Bethlehem. The place where Jesus was born. This is where I walked today. As our bus toured the city, we were in awe of the view that we were looking at. First, we ate at this amazing tent restaurant and while I am a picky eater, I tried some of the different foods and loved it. A lot of people smoked hookah’s and this one creepy lady took a picture of me. So what did I do? I gave her the :-O face, and she had this death stare come on her the rest of the time. Then I got a picture of her…it made me laugh. Then we went to the church of the Nativity where they believe is the birth place of Christ. Dr. Davis, the great philosopher, claims it to be a B+ site, meaning it’s a strong possibility but not certain. The problem with the church of the Nativity is the unnecessary decorations all throughout the church. While it may be a strong site, the amount of relics and bronze objects that cover the building are ridiculous. Most of my friends agreed that it was a “cheesy site” and had no wish to go back. It is unfortunate, but it is the truth.

From there we went to Herodian. This place was magnificent. We went as far as we could go because they decided to close down early on us. Nonetheless the view was incredible. We could see for miles. Now, this mountain of Herod was built by Herod and actually was made from another mountain, which is why Jesus says what he does in Matthew 17:20. He was saying, if Herod can move this mountain, what greater things can God do. We could also see the Judaen Desert where the believe Jesus was tempted. This place was astounding. Then we went to some shepherd fields and enjoyed the peacefulness there.

Today I tried to get more in tuned with God and I read a lot more and studied before I went. I think it is just so hard to take everything in and still have room for God to change you. Not saying He can’t, but I think the sights can be distracting from what God wants to accomplish. No matter what, I will keep pressing in, and being in prayer at every moment. I listened to a prophecy that I got from Mike Berry back in July/August and it is incredible to see how those things came to pass. But God is calling a radical part out of me and I am striving to be more like Him so that I can be used as a vessel and a tool. Just as Jesus was obedient to the Father in every aspect, so I will also strive to be obedient and listen to His words and follow His path because His plans are so much greater and amazing than anything I could think of.
